Sunday School

FEBRUARY 2012

TIME.  Can you believe that we are already in the second month of 2012? Time sure flies! As I get older I have experienced that cliché to be absolutely true. As I have noticed some new faces in the congregation lately, I can't help but to think of the scripture in 2 Cor. 6:2 "Now is the appointed time for salvation" (paraphrased). I would hope that each and everyone of us would do whatever we can to encourage and invite people to church. If you watch the news at all, you probably wonder how much longer before Jesus returns. I know that I do.

May HE richly bless you
Bro. Rusty

Overview - Our Mission

We have a passion for our small group / Bible study sessions. This upcoming church year prayerfully will see us focused to ministering to each other as well as the community around us. It is in these sessions that the groups coordinated and lead by a shepherd unpacks the mysterious and extraordinary wonders that are God. These groups unpack Bible basics for young children all the way to applying God's eternal Word to all of the things we face in our natural lives as well as the cornerstone in beginning to get a handle on the awesome nature of God.

Our mission is in a small group setting explore God's World as well as develop and strengthen each member's understanding of God but more importantly their relationship with Him through Jesus Christ by His Grace through the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 3:5-7 NASB95
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

Strength and Understanding are Through
God Alone

There is only one Truth and it walked in the flesh and was and is and is to come. Christ is truth manifested in the flesh sacrificed for our reconciliation to God. He bridged the gap between God and Sin and man. If you have Christ, it is now just God and Man purchased by the blood of Christ. In our studies and discussions, our shepherds seek God and His spirit and show each other how to truly rely and live in Christ. We seek to be the fruit and His witness. His glory manifested through us to demonstrate His love for mankind.
John 15:1-11 NASB95
Jesus Is the Vine?Followers Are Branches
1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
3 "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8 "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
9 "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
11 "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Relevant for Retired Adults

It is a time of reflection upon life, but most importantly it's a time to look forward to all God has planned for retired adults now.

This resource challenges a generation already full of life's experiences to discover new ones in their service to the Lord, and to pass on to younger generations the legacy of their faith.

Relevant for Older Adults

Whether rasing children and facing these tough economic conditions or living in an empty nest because the children have grown up and left, God's still in control and He still has a purpose for our lives whether we're 30 or 99. God wants a relationship with us no matter what the age. If He didn't, He would not have created us. Our studies will focus on God's Word in terms of the Spiritual and the day-to-day. There is no boundary separating the two unless a person's will is acting outside of the will of God. Our studies focus on ministering and understanding what is going on around us and how we can stay focused on what is important. That is Jesus Christ and evidence of His life manifested by spirit in ours. Are we walking with God or are we trying to make our own path?

Come join us and let's explore this together.
